The one skill that prevents most bad bookings
This is the highest-value two minutes you can spend before any booking. Reverse image search tells you whether a listing's photos belong to the person you are about to meet or to a model in another country whose pictures have been lifted a thousand times.
It is easy, free, and works on any phone.
How to do it
Save one of the clearer photos from the listing. Open a reverse-image search tool in your browser, upload the saved photo, and look at where else it appears online. On a phone you can do the same by uploading the image; on desktop you can often drag it straight in.
Do it for two or three photos, not just one — scammers sometimes mix a real photo in with stolen ones.
How to read the results
The reassuring result is few or no matches, or matches that all point back to the same person's own presence. The warning result is the same face appearing under different names, on stock or modelling sites, or across listings in cities the person supposedly isn't in.
One or two unrelated matches can be innocent — the internet is a hall of mirrors. A pattern of the same images spread across many identities is not.
What a clean result proves — and doesn't
A clean search means the photos probably are not mass-stolen. It does not prove the person messaging you is the one in them, which is why a live verification selfie is the perfect partner to this check: the search confirms the photos are theirs, the selfie confirms they are the one you are talking to.
